Day 15+16 : Budapest
Budapest was lovely. The night we got there we went to a well known club called Instant after a round of Ring of Fire (Tiernan had to drink the communal jug). Everything in Hungary is cheap and so the drinks were good value. The music was pretty standard club music, but there was lots on offer with multiple rooms. We left around 3:30 and bumped into one of the strangest trio of men I have ever met. Two from Hungary, one from Walthamstow. They were part of a reggae hip-hop group and were due to play the garage at Highbury and islington on the 9th. We promised we’d go down. They took everyone but Chan and I back to Instant, and the next day there were some rather strange stories being banded about.
We spent the next day at the national gallery where we saw an incredible exhibition on Surrealism and Dadaism. Ernst, Man Ray and Breton all featured. I headed back to the apartment afterwards because I had decided to spend a couple of days with my parents in Italy.
We parted ways.
