Day 11: Bus to Pula
We found upon waking in Ljubljana that it was going to be too risky to get the train to Pula, Croatia, for the changeover between trains was a matter of minutes. We decided instead to get a 5 hour coach. It was blisteringly hot and rather uncomfortable. Not much can be said about the day.
Once we arrived, we met the elderly owners of the apartment we had booked and discovered they spoke not a word of English. It’s terrible to say, but it made things difficult. Croatian seems a much more difficult language to pick up, even with my European phrase book, everything is difficult to pronounce.
We cooked pasta and got a very early night. It was bliss.
